The Fayetteville & Cumberland County Youth Clubs has served as a cornerstone of youth development in Cumberland County for more than five decades.
Established in 1967 and recognized as a federally tax-exempt nonprofit in 1971, the organization has long operated as a driving force for local youth, strengthening its focus on maintaining its support for the community with educational resources, community fundraisers, afterschool programs and summer camps.
From its founding, FCCYC was created to provide safe, structured, and supportive environments for children and adolescents during out-of-school hours. In its early years, programming centered on recreation, mentoring, and character development. Over time, FCCYC expanded its services to include academic enrichment, leadership development, health and wellness programming, workforce readiness, and civic engagement.
The organization has maintained a strong presence in Fayetteville, including long-standing operations at its Cumberland Road and G.B. Myers Recreation Center (Rochester Drive) locations, and continues to serve youth throughout Cumberland County. Today, FCCYC functions as a community-based youth development hub that adapts programming to meet evolving educational, economic, and social needs.
